Does sugar intake slow down wound healing?

Not really: There is no direct correlation between intake of sugar and wound healing, however there are many factors in diabetic patients which will interfere with wound healing. If blood sugar is well controlled, wouldn't worry.

Yes: Sugar is a metabolic poison. It is a root cause of high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, cancer, inflammatory diseases. Sugar is highly addictive. The less sugar you consume, the healthier you will be. Sugar can impair wound healing.
