Possibly: There is a chance it could get better but usually they get worse. You should see a physician to be correctly diagnosed.

Yes, for sure.: Most thoat infections, whether bacterial or viral will self resolve. Antibiotics will usually help you get better quicker, and help avoid complications of infections.
