Throat infection(viral not bacterial) doc says,have had it for a week now, no real sings of clearing. im a pt, can i train ? or shud i rest?

More Time Needed: Viral throat infections can last over a week. If a throat culture was negative (to confirm the exam), that helps but not 100%; if it wasn't done, maybe one is due. but without a fever and exudate and severe pain it's probably not bacterial. Also if you're dead tired it may be Mono. Don't do things to irritate it: eat bland and or cold; gargle with very dillute salt water (pinch in a glass)
