Most likely viral: Usually one would treat with acetamenophen or Ibuprofen and observe. If the child improves with reduction of fever, the ha goes away and no other comlaints, then would observer and treat conservatively. If cough is wet, fever is unremitting, complains of ear pain, throat pain, rash or continued or worseing ha, then get seen. Fluids are important as is rest and keeping home and away from others.
