Usually virus: Infants with runny noses will benefit from bulb suction as they cannot eat with clogged noses. Children with runny noses and low grade (less than 100.4) fever or true fever might benefit from Acetaminophen at 15 mg per kilo (2.2 pounds) of body weight. Ibuprofen can also be used. Aggressive fluids and rest is all that is needed. Antibiotics are unnecessary. Flu should be considered this season.
