My daughter keeps spiking a fever at night but has no fever during the day. when she spikes, her head hurts, she doesn't want to eat much and has a cough. what could this be?

Viral infection usually causes fever in the evening and at night. You can give her tylenol liquid in the afternoon and before bedtime. However, most viral illness will subside after 3-5 days so if symptoms persists past 5 days you daughter should be evaluated her pediatrician. Make sure she is taking fluid well during the day time.
