Not sure that : A running shoe makes you walk faster than a shoe unless your running........ Excercise helps you lose weight. This is usually more comfy in a sneaker than shoe. Watching what you eat is important. If you watch what you eat better in a sneaker than shoe, than by all means wear sneakers, but its the watching what you eat part not whats on your feet part that really matters.

Running shoes: Shoes are made for a specific activity, walking shoes for walking, running shoes for running. A shoe itself won't make you faster and lose weight . Traing and working out will help with those.
