A 41-year-old member asked:
how badly can a meniscus injury have to be before a doctor tells you no more running?

Dr. Jack Farr answered

Many factors: If it is repairable and heals and there is no arthritis--there may be no limits. On the other hand, if the tear leads to loss of meniscal function coupled with arthritis, limb malalignment and an elevated bmi-- high impact exercise may be discouraged.
