A member asked:

Which works best for you when eyes are red and painful from allergies?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rx'd eyedrops: Both over the counter and prescription anti-allergy drops are available to treat allergic conjunctivitis. Removing the source of the allergen (like pollen or dander) is preventive, and ice packs can be soothing. Keeping your drops chilled also feels good.
