Initial thoughts: Really need to examine the eyes to know what is going on here. Ithcy/watery eyes generally indicate allergy. Mucus stranding can be a sign of more severe allergy. Sometimes, the eyes become dry as a side effect of antihistamines (and maybe poor hydration) taken for allergies. Your eye drops may be of too little potency or may not be targeting true cause.
