Try The Opposite!: If u feel panic attack coming on or if u're in situation that might bring one on, try this: let it come! actually let it happen! so if u feel one coming on tell urself "i can handle it -even though it won't feel good!" and before one comes or while it's happening 1) do slow "belly breathing"; & 2) alternate between squeezing & relaxing different muscle groups. U'll learn u have control over them!

Difficult: You must be quick, as there rapidly is an "off-the-cliff" point where self-help techniques can't overcome the tidal wave. Controlled / concentrated breathing techniques; positive phrase repitition; biofeedback; (temporary) situation avoidance (if possible), are a few options. A good therapist/psychologist can help give you "tools for your toolbox" to use when coming on. Good luck!
