To what extent are steriod shots in lower spine successful?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

ESI: Esi is indicated for arm pain or leg pain associated with a pinched nerve—whether disc herniation, bone spur, or spinal stenosis. Any of these problems usually respond well, at least temporarily, to esi. If you do not have an MRI to confirm, then there is less ability to predict success with this injection. Long term success is around 50-75% (meaning 1 year of relief).
