A member asked:

Hoping you can tell me, is non-contrast ct scan sufficient to highlight pancreatic problems?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: On what is being sought. A large pseudocyst or obvious pancreatitis can be seen with a non-contrast ct. Evaluation of more subtle findings of pancreatic cancer, duct enlargement, small pseudocysts, etc. Require thin section imaging and intravenous contrast.
