A CT scan with oral: ... and IV contrast is what I would choose if I wanted to check for the presence of pancreatic tumor. The pancreas can be hard to visualize on a non-contrast study. However, fat in the abdomen can help delineate it in some patients. An abdominal ultrasound can help determine if a mass is cystic. Whether a mass is visible will also depend on its size and location.
