Full study: For pancreatic cancer a full study is needed. Contrast in the bowel will allow the radiologist to evaluate. A thorough history by your doctor first to ask smoking history and risks is the first step. Intravenous contrast will peruse through the vascular beds. Operative planning for a pancreatic mass would include absence of mesenteric vascular involvement. Hope this helps.
