Yes: Diet is great contributor to gastroesophageal reflux which is a major cause of chest pain (heartburn).There is a sphincter(muscle) at end of esophagus that controls reflux from stomach into esophagus. High fat meals and fried foods tend to decrease muscle tone and delay stomach emptying thereby increasing the risk of reflux.Large meals increase the likelihood of increased gastric (stomach) pressur.
