Wax on teeth: First see your orthodontist to see if it can be alleviated. It has to be secure that you can't dislodge it or swallow it at night causing you to aspirate in the wrong pipe.

Sure: It will probably dissolve overnight or you may swallow it. But if you have a major sharp spot that you are trying to cover with wax, try to see your dentist or orthodontist soon to possibly perform an adjustment.

Absolutely: First have your orthodontist check to see if the "sticker" can be made less irritating. Dry the "sticker, " then cover it with a bb sized piece of wax that has been softened by rolling it between your fingers. If it should dislodge while you sleep, you will probably swallow it, and it will "work out all right in the end.".

Yes: It won't harm you if you swallow some wax. Remember to place it only on the areas that poke you and just use a tiny bit.

Yes: The wax will likely not move, and even if you swallowed it, its not harmful. That said, you may want to take it out and allow your mouth to adjust to whatever was bothering you enough to use the wax in the first place.

Yes: The key is to use small amounts. If you apply too much wax, it is more likely to become dislodged, you may swallow it. Dental wax is non toxic.

Absolutely: The wax is given to alleviate any discomfort that you may experience from the edges of the bands or brackets, or in the event of an emergency mishap such as to stabilize a broken bracket. If the wax is accidentally dislodged and swallowed during sleep, you will be fine.
