Shifting of teeth: After orthodontic treatment, one needs some type of retention in order to maintain the teeth in place, otherwise they will tend to shift back to their original position. Your question is best answered by the orthodontist who treated you, or if unavailable by another orthodontist. Just as you had teeth moved the first time, they can be moved again. The question is: will you wear your retainers?
