A member asked:

I want to eat foods with a low glycemic index because my blood sugar is a little high. is 7 high?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: If you mean an a1c of 7, it's high and you have an extra 20-40% risk of dying from problems w/diabetes compared to having a normal glucose. Eat less, exercise more, lose weight and you probably need medication: at least metformin and possible additional rx. See your doctor.
