Wrong Sequence: Any whitening system that you can commercially purchase should only be used after the dentist has gotten the stains out of the enamel structure of the tooth, and taken care of any cavities that exist. Otherwise you will be trying to whiten over a deep stain = failure, or you will be trying to whiten a cavity = can potentially kill the nerve of the tooth.

Whitening: The bleaching strips will do the most. But, none of the over the counter methods are very effective. Trays from a dentist are a much better value. You only have to buy 3 or 4 boxes of strips to equal the price of trays that can last years, get a better longer lasting result that can be touched up by just wearing the trays for a day.

Crest Products Good : I have found the crest products work well. I personally use the white strips, the 3d mouthwash, and the whitening toothpaste and have gotten good results. If your teeth are very stained or darkened professional whitening will be magnitudes better.

White-out: Seriously, if a trip to the dentist is not an option, you have bigger issues than whitening. Regular dental exams and cleanings are necessary to not only keep your teeth and gums healthy, but also the rest of your body has a greater chance of staying healthier. Many diseases and health problems are being linked to oral health such as diabetes, cancers, stroke, etc.. And cleanings whiten teeth!
