By now the sutures or in a few days should be removed. If area is closed up and no openings are present than the doctor will be able to allow you to continue your lifestyle as long as there is no infection or swelling present. Smoking anything is never good for your health.

Your risk of dry socket ,at day 10 post-op, is very small. Straw should be OK. Your risk of mouth/throat lung cancer from pipe smoking is higher than from filtered cigarettes. Pipe smoking dramatically increases risk of early death.
