The positive HPV test means you have the virus. It was there at the time of your LSIL pap even if an HPV test was negative at the time. (Standard testing misses many infections.) LSIL and ASCUS rarely progress to cancer. Half of all people your age have HPV, mostly harmless. Follow your doc's follow-up advice and get vaccinated to prevent infection w/ HPV types that cause most warts & cancers.
