Why should i wait a week to retest for uti after finishing antibiotics?

You retest during treatment if there is no symptom improvement & a resistant bug is suspected. You wait a while after treatment to assure that antibiotics are not still in your system and to give a few left over germs a chance to grow in enough numbers to be detected. Some wouldn't bother retesting at all unless symptoms returned.
