A member asked:

What tests can identify hernias (spigelian)? utrasound in a prone position was normal, as was colonoscopy but i have a constant dull ache in the rlq & chronic constipation. had an inguinal hernia repair in 2020. would rather not have ct radiation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A one time low-dose CT scan is not detrimental to health. Chances of having a Speg. hernia are low if a properly performed ultrasound was neg. A good clinical exam by an abdominal surgeon will help. Let her/ him find and treat the cause of your pain and not try to diagnose it yoursrlf. Good luck
