A member asked:

38yr old. gerd issues. endoscopy reveals mild lax les. doctor suggests surgery. is this the only option left? is there no other way to cure this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

That depends on the intensity of your GERD. If you can avoid reclining after meals for at least 2 hours, avoid all caffeine or nicotine and aggravating foods, your GERD may improve without. If you have tried behavioral change and meds with no success the fundoplication surgery is a way to provide vast improvement.
