Blood drawing can occasionally hit a nearby nerve ending causing it to sting more than usual. The equipment used is sterile/single use only with needles discarded after use. You don't get HIV that way, although you could if a drug user with aids reused one of their needles to inject you. The risk for you to get HIV or anything else from the usual blood draw is zero. Test if you want.
