A barium swallow wand an endoscopy do not show the same issues. So, it depends on the symptoms you are having and what the GI doctor thinks the diagnosis is which test is the best one to do. The endoscopy is more likely to show mucosal issues, for example, while a barium swallow is good for motility issues. So, follow GI’s advice as to the best test for you to pursue. Good luck!
