A member asked:

Can esophageal hypersensitivity cause motility issues or do they have no correlation? esophagram showed the primary peristalsis of my esophagus is impaired?

No, esophageal sensitivity has no correlation with esophageal motility. Primary peristalsis is swallowed-induced peristalsis which has no relationship to esophageal hypersensitivity. Please continue to follow with your gastroenterologist. Good luck.
