A member asked:

Hi, can tmj inflamation cause high (25)sed rate by modified westergren , thank you?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Any inflammation in the body can raise the sed rate, but imple TMJ dysfunction without concomitant inflammation shouldn't but many clinicians do consider it to be an inflammatory process nevertheless with types of arthritis often felt to be present. In our lab your sed rate of 25 is considered within normal limits ( maybe your lab has different ranges for your age& sex)
