Yes: However it will only reduce some pain. It is important to treat the cause of the pain. Ask your dentist for a referral to a dr. Who treats TMJ disorders!

Yes along with: Soft diet, no harmful habits (clenching, grinding teeth, no chewing on pens or pencils, no biting finger nails, etc) avoid very wide opening. Ice pack or warm pack may help. Also see your dentist for a thorough evaluation and determination of the best treatment method.
