A member asked:

I'm 10 weeks pregnant and have a 6.6cm complex septated cyst. could this cause complications. should cyst this size be removed? dr says keep an eye on it.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doc's right: Not sure what "complex" means here but septated cysts without associated mass are overwhelmingly benign. Rarely, larger cysts can twist the blood supply to the ovary and cause pain so be aware that if you develop acute "severe" pelvic pain on the side of cyst you should have a repeat ultrasound. Again, this is rare and you should be fine.
