Yes, a blood sample of 48 hours old will result a high AST level due to the leaking content of red cells from the clotted portion of the sample (serum is on top and the clot is at the bottom of the test tube). Your AST of 46 is slightly high and the result is due to a technical error so you have nothing to worry. Take care.
