A member asked:

Hello, i just received my pap smear results and it says negative for intraepithelial lesion or malignancy. cellular changes associated with inflammation are present. should i be concerned about the cellular changes associated with inflammation? thx?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The wording indicates no evidence of cancer or pre-cancer is found. The comments about inflammation suggest a recent or ongoing vaginitis. The importance would best be determined by the provider who evaluated the patient at the time.
