A brachial nerve block affects the arm,shoulder & hand but not the lumbar region structures. Aren't your symptoms lower down and not in the arm,shoulder or hand distribution? Is the nerve block for diagnostic purposes ( temporary) or for permanent treatment? Did a neurosurgeon evaluate and advise you about your treatment options before your nerves are permanently damaged?

I've seen two doctors, one said I need a microdiscectomy the other said I shouldn't have one & to have radio frequency ablation.
