I've seen two doctors, one said i need a microdiscectomy the other said i shouldn't have one & to have radio frequency ablation. dr steven simon responded that it should go away in weeks, but it's been over year. dr suggested rfa because he feels the disc has calcified and surgery should be avoid due to damaging the nerves, this true? i'm in pain & it's affecting sex drive, appetite, bowel movements, my over all quality of life. diff in 2 procedures? l4/l5 herniated disc follow up question.

Neurosurgery: We can not cross- reference your previous posting. I would not rely on information from doctors who really don't know you on such an important issue. I think in your situation, what you are asking for is a "second opinion" and in your case it is actually a "third opinion". You haven't told us what type of doctors who spoke with. Neurosurgeons are the gold standard when it comes to disc's.
