A member asked:

Seven weeks ago doctor said i have a herniated disc in lower back .and sciatic nerve damage. i did theropy and it hurts worse now. no improvement?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Radiculopathy: Most herniated disks will get better on their own, however if the symptoms worsen after conservative treatment then other methods should be investigated. Surgery is an option when weakness, pain and sensory loss all correlate to the location of the disk herniation. Usually physical therapy, steroid injections and other methods are employed first. Seven weeks is not a long time. But try another way.
