A member asked:

What does this mean, marked right and moderate left c5-c6 and c6-c7 foraminal stenosis? slight numbness in right arm. wedges inserted 5/31/23 at c6/7 to alleviate numbness. would foraminectomy help? i thought wedges would do the same?

It often does but there is no guarantee. Would try all conservative measures before having foraminetomy.

In any decision for spinal surgery, it is imperative to assess risk to radicular nerves and spinal cord. An EMG could objectify the extent of nerve root compression. Would add that a second opinion from a neurosurgeon might be of interest. Disappointing, but neck surgery is often unsuccessful.
