It would be unusual to have a skin infection and have no drainage from the skin abscess, which is what a boil or carbuncle is. If there is absolutely no drainage at all, then there is likely an alternative diagnosis. Perhaps you should see a dermatologist if there is a recurrence of the problem. Good luck!
