Tested positive high on hep a total but did not have test for current infection. i have had elevated liver enzymes. dr doesnt think hep a becuas i have been vaccinated. how likely is it to have a breakthrough infectio?

There are false positive hep A tests but your elevated liver enzymes need explanation. If you only had one dose of the vaccine you can still get hep A infection. A hepatologist, gastroenterologist or specialist in infectious disease would be best to evaluate & advise you. Appropriate testing will then be ordered.This is important as an hepatitis A infection is reportable to the public health dept
