A member asked:

Us findings 6x7.23.6 cm neck mass demonstrates a small echogenic band indicating small fatty hilum in lymph node. impression: hypoechoic mass indicates likely pathogenic lymph node. does this usually indicate malignancy?

The size, over 2 cm, makes this a very worrisome lymph node highly suspicious of malignancy. The next steps are most likely a biopsy&surveillance for other pathological lymph nodes or a primary lesion in head, neck&thyroid.

Yes, those findings are suspicious for malignancy but not definitive. You will be referred to a surgeon for open biopsy or mass resection for a definite diagnosis. Good luck.
