BV increases the risk of PID and some of the bacteria associated with BV can contribute to Fallopian tube inflammation from PID. Hard to know how to interpret yellow/colored discharge, which certainly suggests infection; and "not severely inflamed". Standard advice (e.g. from CDC) is that treatment for PID should be given if PID is even suspected, whether or not proved.
