A member asked:

What does this mean from my urine culture? ive had burning vaginally and rectally for 10 months that my dr could not find problem. could my issue be strep b? colony count: 10,000-25,000 col/ml: group b strep. universally susceptible to penicillin?

Group B strep is a bacteria frequently found in the stool and vagina. It is occasionally linked to urinary tract symptoms/infections. The culture count is not impressive but treating it with oral meds may be helpful, but oral meds does not eliminate the germ from the poop. There may be other issues as a cause for both areas of burning.

This is a commensal to the area and probably not the cause of your problem. I would suggest a thoro exam by your Gyn. In the meantime keep area cleanand apply any OTC bland cream or ointment eg cortisone. Hope you do well
