I took my 5 yr old boy to urgent care yesterday for low back pain and fever. they said his urine was clean except for a few bacteria. they prescribed him augmentin. hes been having horrible body aches and headache. hes had two doses. should we stop?

He may have a viral or bacterial infection. Screen for COVID-19. Keep him well hydrated and monitor his temperature. Watch for signs of shortness of breath and rash. If the symptoms persist, please follow up with your physician.

UTI's are rare in males and a clean urine except for a "few bacteria" doesn't sound like a valid UTI. I suspect the Augmentin was given just out of caution, but he likely has something else. I would take him to a pediatrician now to have this issues sorted out. It could be serious.
