While a positive beta HCG test indicates pregnancy (successful implantation of a fertilized egg), early miscarriage is possible, especially if this is your first pregnancy. Your OB physician will order successive HCG quantitative tests to monitor the appropriate progress of your pregnancy, and should be a source of guidance going forward.
