A member asked:

I'm 43 & recently had a hysterectomy due to severe pain & heavy periods. dr.was unable to remove left fallopian tube from endometrial scarring & adherence of tube to wall. what is a wall? he said also confindently said the endo wouldn't spread. true?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If "endo" refers to endometriosis, removal of the uterus (hysterectomy) will stop vaginal bleeding and uterine cramps. The "wall" may be the lower abdominal "wall", and endometriosis will cause adhesions (scarring). Since endometriosis may result in abdominal implants of endometrial cells, withdrawal bleeding from cycles of ovarian hormones may sill cause abdominal cramping. Ask about oral bcp's.
