Depends: It depends on the cause of your heavy bleeding. If you have fibroids or endometriosis that is causing the heavy bleeding, then burning the lining of the uterus may not solve the problem and a hysterectomy may be a wiser choice. However if there is not a clear reason for the bleeding, an endometrial ablation is a more conservative approach.
