Recently got braces off and have received a retainer. i am finding the retainer tight and my teeth feel loose, throb and feel painful to touch when i take it out. (my teeth actually wobble!). just wondering if it is ok for my teeth to be like this :?

Please see your orthodontist to determine if the retainer is fitting correctly and to address the slight movement in your teeth.

Retainers are supposed to help stabilize teeth, not make them mobile. They should be worn 24 hrs/day, not less. Look for reasons to put them in, not excuses to take them out. Soreness and mobility should disappear within a week. If not, see your specialist Orthodontist or treating General Dentist for reevaluation.
