Your tooth should tighten when you get your retainer. Each tooth sits in a socket attached to ligaments that will stretch and change position within bone which is essentially orthodontic movement. All teeth especially recent orthodontically, repositioned teeth have slight mobility. It’s important to wear your retainer as directed to keep your teeth aligned. Talk to your orthodontist. Take care!

Tooth should have stabilized by now. Treating General Dentist or specialist Orthodontist is responsible for your post-treatment stability. You have returned for retainer checks, and you wear your retainers religiously 24/7, right? You may need retainer or occlusal adjustment and/or referral to Periodontist.
