A member asked:

If the purpose of propofol during a colonoscopy is patient comfort, why didn't they wait longer to start rolling back the sheets and expose me in that indignifying (but necessary) position? aren't there methods for assessing when the pt is "out"?

Propofol does typically work pretty quickly but, yes, the doctor should have waited until you were asleep prior to exposing you. You probably should let your doctor know so that is not done again the next time you need a colonoscopy done. Good luck!
