A member asked:

Is this normal? esophagus: there was scattered white plaques. there were biopsied and and sent for candida culture and sensitivity. the end of the gastric folds and z-line were located 37 cm from incisors. the diaphragmatic impression was located 37?

I'm unsure of the metrics referring to diaphragmatic impression but 37 cms is.ok for z line. White patches can be from acid reflux, yeast, eosinophilic esophagitis or leukoplakia from alcohol or tobacco use. Your gastroenterologist will advise you.

Without seeing pictures of the white plaques, it is impossible to know what they represent, but the biopsies and candida culture should tell you more about them. You should talk to the gastroenterologist who did the procedure what their impression truly was. Good luck.
